FAQ's

1. Its my first time in a studio and I'm a bit nervous
Whether its your first time in a studio or you are a seasoned professional we know how intimidating it can be to record in a professional studio so we have made the whole process as laid back and friendly as possible. If your not comfortable singing in our purpose made vocal booth we can set a microphone up in the control room which is acoustically treated to provide a neutral environment.

2. Can I bring someone with me to the session?
Yes of course - we have a chair in the control room where your relative or friend can sit and watch and we have tea and coffee making facilities. We just ask them to be quiet when your tracking if its in the control room.

3. Can you record a band full band?
It would be a bit of a squeeze to say the least so we are really geared up for solos and duos.

4. Can I expect professional results
We have the finest classic signal chain and professional equipment to match anything you will find in a million
dollar studio and dont forget we have a money back guarantee if you are not happy with the results of your recording.

4.  How will the session work?
Its really up to you but if you havnt recordered before we will discuss what you want to achieve and then settle you in in front of the mic in the vocal booth with headphones. While we are setting up levels you can run through the song but we wont record it. When your comfortable with levels and comfort reverb in the headphones we will run through 3 or 4 takes. We will then go back and overdub any notes or phrases that need it following which you will come into the control room and listen while we comp the tracks to get the best vocal take. Following this we will mix it to your requirements and when done we will give you a copy of your recording on a CD and also email you a copy of the file in whatever format you would like.

5. I'm a solo singer so do you have access to backing tracks?
Absolutely - we have over 50,000.00 tracks available and can get just about any backing tracks available including most chart songs. This is included in the session costs. You can also bring your own if you would prefer. If you can email us a couple of days before with the names of the songs you want to cover we will have the tracks recordered ready for you to add vocals on the session.

6. Why are you opening a studio when most of the commercial studios seem to be closing down?
Firstly because the studio is my own recording space my overheads are low and its as much about music as as money for me. Also the music business is changing rapidly and budgets are not what they used to be which makes it difficult to run a large commercial studio. However with the popularity of X Factor and the Voice singers still need professional demos and if you have ever tried to record yourself at home you know how hard it is to get great results so we firmly believe there is a long term market for small boutique studios optimised for vocalists..
